Psychiatry Residency Training Program University of Washington Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences

We aim to provide outstanding clinical education in psychiatry, an intellectually stimulating and supportive learning environment, a rich interdisciplinary environment for research and scholarship, and a wealth of opportunities to work with underserved and disadvantaged mentally ill populations throughout our community and our region. We hope to inspire our residents to make a difference through careers in research, teaching, community psychiatry, and clinical practice.

About the Program

As the largest Psychiatry Residency program in the US, we offer extensive clinical experiences across four hospitals and several community sites. This includes specialized centers such as the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning and a commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
