Stephanie Watts, Ph.D., CCC-SLP: ENT Faculty Profile
Stephanie Watts, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine Neurology and serves as a Speech Language Pathologist for College of Medicine Otolaryngology and Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. She is a key member of the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at USF Health.
Research Interests
Her research focus involves several critical areas of speech pathology and clinical practice:
- 1) Understanding relationships between oropharyngeal and esophageal dysphagia as well as developing assessment mechanisms to promote multidisciplinary care.
- 2) Airway protective mechanisms such as coughing and the physiological interactions between swallowing and cough.
- 3) Clinical practice patterns and implementation of new protocols.
