Choosing the Right Caribbean Medical School

Caribbean Medical University (CMU) Program Structure

At Caribbean Medical University, our Medical program (MD) consists of basic science AND clinical science. The Pre-Med program is the shortest way to become a med student for those who did not have medicine-related courses before. Students at CMU are prepared to graduate with a Medical Doctor (MD) degree and practice medicine particularly in the United States (U.S.).

We follow the U.S. medical school curriculum where the Basic Science program is completed in Curaçao and Clinical Science is primarily in the U.S. There are three starting terms per year: Spring in January, Summer in May, and Fall in September.

Admissions and Financial Aid

Our Schools admissions staff are trained to recognize the unique potential in applicants. Based on more than 40 years of experience in medical education, we now know that GPA and MCAT data are not pure predictors of success in medical school. Admissions is one of the most important and seldom discussed aspects for all of the Caribbean medical schools.

CMU is committed to helping you find the best options to finance your medical education, offering everything from U.S. & Canada Loans to Scholarships. Below is a summary of the tuition costs per semester:

• Pre-medicine program: $2,950 per semester
• Basic-science program: $5,900 per semester
• Clinical Science program: $9,900 per semester

Tuition is per semester and is listed on our Tuition & Fees page under Financial Aid. It is paid per semester but can be also paid per year or program. For those applying, the application for admission is US $75.00.

Modern Facilities and Campus Life

The school facilities on the campus of Saint Kitts are one of the most modern in the Caribbean and is comparable to those of many of the top med schools in the US. It features the latest technologies in the classrooms including full human simulation laboratories as well as an 11,000 sqft school of medicine Anatomy/NeuroAnatomy lab.
