LAB EXAM/PRACTICAL INSTRUCTIONS-BIOLOGY 211L AND 212L

Location of exam: Carver room 60. Testing center hours: Monday thru Thursday 8-8 and Friday 8-4 pm. The following is the exam schedule. Make sure you know when the testing center is available to you for your section. It will vary from lab to lab.

What to take to the exam

  • 1. You must have a photo ID
  • 2. You must know the section and course for which you are registered
  • 3. Reserve approximately 60 minutes for the exam.

Most people can finish in 30-45 minutes. If you need more time you are allowed to stay as long as you wish. BUT you will not be allowed to stay past the testing center hours.

General Instructions

After you have read and agreed to the rules listed below, navigate to the WebCT exam you are taking. (NOTE: If you do not agree to the rules listed below, please gather your possessions and leave the testing lab.) Let the proctor know that you are ready to take the exam. The proctor will enter the appropriate password allowing you to take the exam. (Note: After the exam window has opened, the proctor will close the mail WebCT page – do not be alarmed. You can continue to complete and submit the exam.) After you have completed and submitted your exam, please log-off the machine. Click on the “Start” button in the lower left hand corner of the screen and select “Log Off Student”.

Exam Rules

  1. All backpacks, books, and written materials are to be closed and place in the cabinets above the terminal, or if there are no cabinets available, under or behind your chair so as not to be viewable while taking the exam.
  2. You must obtain scratch paper from one of the proctors. All scratch paper must be returned to the proctor upon completion of the exam.
  3. The use of any portable electronic devices (e.g. cell phones, PDA’s, iPods, etc.) is strictly prohibited.
  4. You may not use any removable media (e.g. Zip disks, memory sticks, etc.) while taking the exam.
  5. Once the proctor has opened the exam window you may not navigate away from the exam page until you have completed and submitted the exam.
  6. All extraneous open windows will have the site location recorded and then the window closed.
  7. All witnessed infractions of the rules stated above will be reported to the instructor of the course.
