The CUNY School of Professional Studies offers a portfolio of online degree and advanced certificate programs in nursing in order to help fill the growing void within the healthcare system. Serving as the first fully online nursing degrees in the CUNY system, our programs help nurses advance within their careers while continuing their education in a timely, flexible, and affordable way.

CUNY School of Professional Studies Online Nursing Programs

RN to BS in Nursing (120 credits)

Students in this program:

  • Build on knowledge gained at the associate’s degree level of nursing through the exploration of issues related to today’s changing healthcare environment

*Applicants who do not currently hold an RN license may apply to the program in the last semester of their pre-licensure program in anticipation of licensure. Unlicensed students who meet the eligibility criteria will be admitted on a case by case basis and will be required to obtain their RN license before beginning their second term in the program.

Associate in Applied Science in Nursing

This two-year program prepares you to take the NCLEX–RN exam and work as a Registered Nurse.

  • Excellent clinical preparation is offered in partnership with a variety of agencies throughout the local area with exposure to both acute care and community treatment programs.
  • Coursework includes learning to care for patients’ physical and emotional needs, safety standards, communication, and use of technology to deliver quality healthcare.

Nursing Dual Degree (AAS & BSN)

Students will earn both the associate's (two-year) degree and a bachelor’s degree in four years or less (summer sessions available).
