6th Developing Excellence in Medical Education Conference: Education and Training for a Globally Sustainable Workforce

We are delighted to be hosting the 6th Developing Excellence in Medical Education Conference (DEMEC), taking place from 8 - 9 December 2025 at The ICC, Birmingham. This event is managed in collaboration by the leading organisations in medical education and training across the UK who are coming together again to provide this unique and high quality joint national UK Medical Education conference. To meet the needs of the people we serve, the conference theme focuses on education and training for a globally sustainable workforce.

The Importance of Excellence in Medical Education

The NHS is something we are all so proud of. It is therefore so important to ensure we have excellent education and training for all doctors, as we all continue to learn. It is also vital to prepare our leaders of the future to ensure the best care for our patients. The learning and development of current and future doctors and other healthcare clinicians raises the quality of care in organisations and improves job satisfaction and retention. Therefore, providing excellence in education and training supports the wellbeing of learners, educators and the NHS itself.

New Venue and In-Person Format

DEMEC this year will run entirely in person and we are introducing a new location for DEMEC – the ICC in Birmingham. With great public transport links and a vast choice of accommodation options in the city, the ICC offers a larger facility with even more parallel session spaces, plenty of space for networking, posters and exhibition. This is an opportunity to reconnect with friends, to refresh your knowledge and skills and to rediscover your enthusiasm for education and training.
