Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) represents medical education at its best. At NUS Medicine, we train you to the highest clinical standards. Our experienced faculty includes internationally respected clinicians and scientists, many of whom are themselves alumni.

Specialized Undergraduate Opportunities

  • The MBBS Intercalated Year Programme (IYP): IYP offers NUS Medicine’s undergraduate medical students the opportunity to take one academic year off in the course of the MBBS programme to pursue another area of study while being enrolled in the medical school.
  • Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP): The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (UROP) promotes research amongst NUS Medicine undergraduates. Undergraduate research is carried out under the supervision of a Principal Investigator.
  • Clinical Electives Programme for Overseas Visiting Students (CEPOVS): The Electives Programme at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine offers medical students from universities outside of Singapore the opportunity to complete an electives posting at one of the NUS Medicine-affiliated hospitals.

Graduate and Nursing Programmes

The NUS Medicine Graduate Programme is a research-oriented programme aimed at training competent biomedical scientists and clinician-scientists who will spearhead and drive the medical biotechnology efforts in the industry. It includes the Master of Science (MSc) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).

For specialized professionals, the school provides Masters by coursework and specialist diplomas to help doctors and allied professionals face the complex and intricate healthcare challenges that we face as a global society. Similarly, Nursing Programmes such as the Bachelor of Science (Nursing) and Master of Nursing help nurses and allied professionals face these same global challenges.

Interdisciplinary Minors

The Minor in Biomedical Informatics and Minor in Integrative Health enable non-healthcare students to understand health and integrate different expertise to prevent and predict diseases. It prepares them to serve Healthier SG and industries with health functions.

Continuing Education and Training (CET)

A vital training pillar for all professionals in the healthcare industry in Singapore and beyond, NUS Medicine builds and maintains a suite of healthcare courses designed by experienced practitioners and established researchers. Sharing best practices and expertise from our centres of excellence, NUS Medicine offers accredited courses for doctors in Continuing Medical Education (CME) as well as nurses in Continuing Professional Education (CPE). This includes a variety of SkillsFuture Courses and Custom Executive Programmes.
