Community Health Initiatives and Coaching

Healthier Texas is a nonprofit working to reduce the risk of preventable diseases by empowering Texans to live healthier lives through connection, education, and action. Together we will build healthier communities—Together we thrive! We encourage you to utilize our health education materials as a resource and as personal support throughout your health journey. This includes Nutrition Education Videos and General Education Materials.

As one participant, Rachel P., noted: "Healthier Texas and its free Health Coaching program has been great for me!" This service helps to have someone in your corner to provide support and accountability through regular meetings to celebrate 'wins' and discuss short-term health goals. It is a positive thing all around, helping people stay on track and, in some cases, stay off of medicine.

State Mandated Health Education Curriculum

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) now requires students in the class of 2025 and beyond to complete a 1.0 health education graduation requirement. MSDE designates mandated content for Health Education A and Health Education B through the MSDE Health Education Curriculum Framework. Health education content includes data and resources for various populations across units, including LGBTQ+ community members.
