The Advancement and Development of Emergency Medicine: Global Perspectives from Pakistan and Ghana

Emergency medicine is also called as accident and emergency medicine, is the medical specialty concerned with considerate for undifferentiated, unscheduled patients with illnesses or injuries requiring immediate medical attention. In their responsibility as first-line providers, emergency physicians are responsible for initiating resuscitation and stabilization, starting investigations and interventions to diagnose and treat illnesses in the acute phase, coordinating care with specialists, and determining disposition regarding patients’ need for hospital admission, observation, or discharge.

The Pakistan Society of Emergency Medicine (PSEM)

Welcome to Pakistan Society of Emergency Medicine. PSEM was established in February, 2018 and serves as representative body for professionals working in the field of Emergency Medicine. Pakistan Society of Emergency Medicine (PSEM) is the permanent and Full member of International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM).

The society is a nonprofit, professional medical society representing practicing emergency medicine physicians, trainees, medical students, scientists and clinical associates, including physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and paramedical professionals. The society’s core purpose and mission is to work with its members to develop and promote emergency medicine in Pakistan. This page connects members of the society with each other and with other similar organizations, national as well as international.
