The Severn Specialised Foundation Programmes, affiliated with the University of Bristol, offer a blend of clinical rotations and academic research across 15 different programmes. The interview process for the Bristol Specialised Foundation Programmes (SFP) is highly competitive. To progress to the interview stage, applicants must attain a minimum shortlisting score of 20/42. Shortlisting is based on educational achievements (additional degrees, presentations, prizes, and publications) and responses to specific white space questions, including their career goals and program preferences. It’s a competitive process aimed at selecting candidates with a strong research and academic background.

Interviews for the Research programmes will be conducted virtually via an online video conferencing platform, and there are no telephone interview options. The interviews are scheduled for a specific date in early-mid November, and no alternative dates are offered. Each candidate will face a single panel comprising clinicians and academics who will assess their clinical, communication, and academic skills. Shortlisted candidates will receive notification via Oriel, including further instructions and Microsoft Teams meeting links.
